1. (A). Project Title: “Exosomes from plants: isolation and characterization and their effects on adipogenesis” (NABI core) Principle Investigator: Dr Vikas Rishi, Scientist G Position: Research Associate (One position) Duration: The RA fellowship is a purely temporary assignment and is tenable for a period of 1 year only, and in exceptional cases, depending upon the progress of the research, the performance, the committee may recommend the up-gradation of RA Levels. Essential Qualification: - a. Candidates should have been awarded the Ph.d degree or has submitted his/her Ph.d thesis. b. Scholars who are selected through National Eligibility Tests-CSIR-UGC-NET, including Lectureship (Assistant Professorship), GATE and GPAT. c. Essential Qualifications: - Postgraduate degree in basic science or graduate/postgraduate degree in the professional course selected through a process described through any one of the following: - a. Scholars who are selected through National Eligibility Tests-CSIR-UGC-NET, including Lectureship (Assistant Professorship), GATE and GPAT

b. The selection process via National-level examinations conducted by central government departments and their agencies and institutions such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MHRD, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc, IISER etc. c. Two years of research experience as JRF. Desirable: The candidate should have experience in advanced molecular biology and biochemical methods and techniques. A candidate with experience in plant tissue culture, agrobacterium mediated transformation, and tissue micropropagation protocols is desirable. Desirable Experience: 1. We seek an enthusiastic and highly motivated candidate who is interested in genetics, and genomics of crop species. 2. Research experience in handling genomics data, GWAS and QTL analysis of crops, NGS data analysis (including genome sequencing & assembly, comparative genomics) as evidenced by relevant research publications in peer-reviewed journals or preprint servers. 3. Research experience in plant-pathogen interactions or plant pathology. Responsibilities: The candidate will work on the genetics, genomics, and phenotyping aspect of the project. The candidate will be responsible for sequencing and phenotyping of Brassica carinata germplasm along with other project personnel. The candidate will also carry out all the bioinformatics analysis including variant calling, GWAS, and other population genomic analyses. The candidate will also be responsible for all the data analysis arising from the phenotyping experiments. Candidate will also help in preparing reports for funding agencies and write manuscripts for publication. Responsibilities: The SRF will be responsible for conducting and assisting in project-related research activities, with emphasis on molecular biology and omics data analysis in rice. Desirable Experience: Candidates having hands-on experience in molecular biology and omics data analysis, particularly transcriptomics and metabolomics, will be preferred.
