Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform molecular biology, protein expression, purification, and characterization workflows in support of center services. • Develop and maintain SOPs, protocols, and documentation to support reproducible laboratory workflows and effective use of instrumentation. • Maintain an organized laboratory, including shared spaces, equipment, reagents, samples and cold storage. • Maintain organized digital laboratory records, including inventory and freezer management. • Coordinate instrument maintenance, calibration, and service. • Support and train researchers in established laboratory procedures and instrumentation use.

Minimum Qualifications

• BS in Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Chemistry, or a related life-science discipline. Master's-level candidates also encouraged to apply. • Three or more years of hands-on laboratory experience preferred. • Demonstrated organizational ability and/or experience maintaining laboratory records, inventories, or shared resources. • Hands-on experience with molecular biology, protein expression, purification, biochemistry, or related laboratory techniques. • Strong attention to detail and written and verbal communication skills. • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, take initiative, and collaborate effectively with others.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience writing SOPs, protocols, or other technical documentation. • Experience supporting shared scientific instrumentation or working in a core facility, technology center, or multi-user laboratory. • Experience training others on laboratory procedures or instrumentation. • Experience with laboratory inventory systems, ELNs, or LIMS.
